Landlady Ruthie and her merry crew in Appledore are ready to welcome you with open arms this festive season. Christmas is all about togetherness, from long-overdue catch-ups to family feasts and fireside laughs, that glow-y, heart-hugging feeling we all love.

Whether it’s a Christmas-jumper pint with friends, a cosy supper for two, or a full-on office do, we’ve got the space (and spirit) to suit. Our festive menus are brimming with cheer, hearty three-course feasts, lip-smacking sharing boards, and drinks packages to add a little extra sparkle.

So, grab a glass of mulled wine and settle in by the fire – with 17 cosy bedrooms you don’t have to go far when the night winds down.

Another lovely visit Another lovely visit to this gem of a place. As always the staff were welcoming, friendly and couldn’t do enough for us (and our dog). The whole place was super festive, food delicious (dinner and breakfast) and our room was warm and cosy with a gorgeous view of the quay and Instow. We’ll be back very soon

We were so impressed with the staff in this pub. We ate there three times over new year and every time the staff were so friendly but also super efficient, especially New Year’s Eve when it was so busy. The food was very good too. We would definitely like to return.
